Facebook Creator Studio allows you to manage your Facebook page from a computer, but also your Instagram account, and that's a first! We offer you an overview of this new tool and its features.

Benefits of Facebook Creator Studio

We must first admit that this new management interface is rather ergonomic, but above all easy to navigate. The dashboard makes it easy to switch from Facebook to Instagram, thanks to two buttons located at the top of the page.

The “Home” tab offers an overview of your communication on Facebook:

  • recent publications,
  • quick statistics of the last 7 days,
  • as well as the number of your drafts and scheduled posts.

On the left column, other tabs are available to access more advanced features. For example, the Content Library lets you access older posts:

  • useful for making "reposts",
  • consult precise statistics on content,
  • or find out which publications have been boosted, for example.

If you have several accounts, it is possible to obtain an overview of all your pages, or a detail page by page on each of the social networks.

Access to the functions of publication on Facebook is available from the home page:

  • either from the "Publish something..." button with the option to post a video, or to perform a Live,
  • either from the + button at the bottom right of your screen.

As from your Facebook page, it is possible to save your work, schedule publications or even backdate them.

The new features mainly concern video content. It is, for example, possible to post video playlists, or to simultaneously publish a video on several pages (cross-posting). The big "must" of this network management tool is certainly the sound bank that allows you to legally access free music and sound effects.

These can be used in your videos. Just search by keywords or filter by genre, duration, etc.

You can then listen to the song online and then download it. It is even possible to mix and edit the tracks.

This is the real innovation of Facebook Creator Studio. It was previously not possible to post on Instagram with a computer, directly from the platform. We inevitably had to go through a tool dedicated to community management, like Later. From now on, it will be possible to post a photo directly on Instagram without going through paid services.

All you have to do is click on “Create a post”: you will have the option to post either on your Instagram feed or on IGTV. To publish on the first, you can fill in a caption. The little more practical: you are told your number of remaining characters, but also the number of mentions and hashtags still available.

You can then upload your photo or video content to the platform. However, it is not possible to apply filters to your photos from Creator Studio. If you want to add an effect, you will have to prepare the publication upstream.

Finally, you can add a place of publication: useful for local businesses who want to target their audience. As with your Facebook page, it is possible to automate the publication of your content.

Access to statistics

Each social network has its space dedicated to statistics. On the Facebook side, you will be able to consult the performance of your videos: the minutes of viewing, views of videos of 1 minute and 3 seconds, the number of interactions and the number of net subscribers (the number of new subscribers minus the number of unsubscribes). Facebook Creator Studio also shows you which videos performed best, and your best pages if you have more than one.

You can then follow the loyalty of your subscribers: the number of new subscribers, the number of unsubscribes, the number of recurring viewers, and the viewing time of your videos. Finally, you will have access to aggregated data on your audience: gender, age, country, languages, area of interest, etc. These statistics are particularly useful for targeting, in order to create advertising campaigns on the Facebook network.

On the Instagram side, you will find under the "Insight" tab, detailed figures on your activity on the social network: profile visit, website visit, text messages sent, calls, e-mails, but also the number of accounts having seen your posts and the total number of times your posts have been viewed (Impressions).

As for Facebook, you will be able to consult statistics on your audience, in particular the times when your followers are on Instagram (“day” and “day and hour”). This is particularly useful for scheduling your publications.

Monetization

You should know that, thanks to Creator Studio, it is possible to monetize your Facebook Page. This is because advertisers can run ads across Facebook's advertising network. When the user watches content on his news feed, the video stops during viewing to make way for an advertisement lasting a few seconds. With each ad broadcast, you will be paid. These are called “ad breaks”.

It is possible to opt for the automatic placement of advertisements in order to find the best natural stopping points. You can also choose to place them yourself. The first pause can be placed after the first 60 seconds of the video, then every 120 seconds. However, you are not guaranteed that Facebook will insert an ad break at each of the suggested points.

However, there are conditions to be met to be eligible for ad breaks. Your page must have at least 10,000 subscribers and generate at least 30,000 one-minute views on videos that are at least 3 minutes in length over the past 2 months.

To conclude, it should be noted that with this tool, Facebook Creator Studio largely encourages companies to communicate through video content. In particular by facilitating their use through various tools: sound bank, cross-posting, monetization, statistics dedicated to videos, etc. It will therefore be necessary to orient your editorial strategy in this direction in order to benefit from a real return on investment.
